GRUESOME MURDER UPDATE (11/23) The second teen involved in the murder of a South Charleston man is now in custody.

Police are saying the murder was over prescription drugs.

Jimmy Gillispie, 51, was found beaten and stabbed to death inside his home Friday morning.

The teens had been at Gillispie's home drinking alcohol early Friday morning.

Michael Thompson, 18, and Jimmy Thompson, 19, no relation, both have long criminal records.

A man told police that they decided to steal Gillispie's prescription medications, and after Gillespie saw what was happening, a fight broke out.

Gillespie was brutally murdered.

GRUESOME MURDER UPDATE - One of two teenagers sought in connection with the murder has turned himself in. South Charleston Police say 18-year-old Michael Shane Thompson's attorney contacted them this morning saying he wanted to surrender.

GRUESOME MURDER - A South Charleston man, 51-year-old James Andrew Gillespie, was murdered in his home about 4 a.m. Friday.

Police are saying it is a gruesome murder, with blood found inside and outside of the house.

Regional authorities are looking for two teenagers.

Warrants have been issued for 19-year-old Jimmy Eugene Thompson and 18-year-old Michael Shane Thompson, not related. They are from the Charleston-South Charleston area.

Police say the two suspects were acquaintances with the victim, saying he let the teens into his home and then some sort of physical altercation took place, resulting in his death.

Both Thompsons should be considered armed and dangerous.
