| Vere "Buster" Hoskins, 88, of Arnoldsburg, West Virginia, died Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at Roane General Hospital, Spencer, after an extended illness.
He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late James A. and Lydia Whytsell Hoskins. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII.
Surviving are his wife, Iva; 3 sons, Larry Hoskins of Ripley; Bradley (Connie) Hoskins, and Jeff (Glenna) Hoskins all of Arnoldsburg; 5 daughters, Sharon (Greg) Monday of Kenna, Nancy O'Brien of St. Albans, Jeanne Wagoner of Sand Ridge, Cindy (Burl) Cottrell, and Melissa Hoskins all of Arnoldsburg; daughter-in-law, Liz Hoskins of Ripley; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Stanley A. Hoskins and a son-in-law, Gene Wagoner.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, November 16 at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Rev. Rick Metheney will officiate. Interment will be in the Liberty Hill Cemetery with Military Grveside Rites.
