HUNTINGTON SHOOT-OUT LEAVES MAN DEAD - Huntington Police say one man is dead and three others have been injured in an early morning shooting over the weekend.

Police say Joe Jermaine Porter was shot by a police officer. He was 30 years old. Porter was pronounced dead at Huntington hospital at 6:00 Sunday morning, according to WSAZ-TV.

Police responded to Club Babylon in downtown Huntington just after 3:00 a.m.

A local officer reportedly heard gunfire and responded to the club.

He discovered injured victims outside, after which he entered the club, seeing two people attempting to flee.

Police say one of the two people was Porter, indicating he was carrying a handgun.

That is when police shot him.

WSAZ-TV says three other people were wounded in an exchange of gunfire before the officers arrived.

WSAZ-TV says Reginald Marbury, 25, was shot one time in the left knee and is being treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Marbury is originally from Detroit, but currently lives in Huntington.

Sontezz Lomax, 29, was shot in the right shoulder and right buttocks. He was treated and released and is currently in police custody on an unrelated charge. Lomax is a lifelong Huntington resident.

Christopher Lewis, 28, was shot one time in the left leg. He is being treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries as well. Lewis is a resident of Thurmond, Ohio and a student at Marshall University.

The name of the police officer who shot Porter is yet to be released.

CHARLESTON TEEN MURDERED - Charleston Police say they are following a lead in their investigation into a West Side murder that occurred last week.

The victim, James Michael Williams, 19, was shot and killed in his home at 800 Grant Street.

Police reports say the fatal shot came through the window from the street, but are unable to say if the shooter was on foot or in a vehicle.

Two other people in the home at the time, including a small child, were uninjured. Medical personnel treated Williams at the scene, but he died on the way to CAMC.

Authorities are examining evidence, talking to neighbors and awaiting an autopsy report. Detective Sgt. Steve Cooper says it's unclear until the autopsy is finished how many times Williams was shot.

Cooper will not speculate on whether detectives think Williams was an intended target of the shooter or an innocent bystander.
