Lindsy Marie Jarvis, 29, passed away peacefully at 11:45 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, surrounded by her family and friends after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born December 23, 1979, in Warren, Lindsy is the daughter of Charles O. "Chuck" and Cynthia Greathouse Jarvis of Leavittsburg.
A 1998 graduate of LaBrae High School, she attended Kent State University for three years. Lindsy was a cheerleader and ran track at LaBrae for four years. She then became a track coach for LaBrae on both the junior high and varsity levels for four years. She was employed by CVS Pharmacy, where she worked as a shift supervisor for several years. With beautiful blue eyes and a smile that could light up a room, her personality was magnetic, and she always put the needs of others before her own.
Lindsy loved to travel, especially to the beach, she was an avid Cleveland sports fan, enjoyed making bracelets, and above all she was a fashionista, was always put together perfectly and had a vast collection of stylish purses and shoes. She loved butterflies and adored her beloved pet cats.
Lindsy will be dearly missed by her parents, Chuck and Cynthia Jarvis of Leavittsburg; a brother Joshua D. Jarvis, also of Leavittsburg; maternal grandparents, Eugene and Mary Maze Greathouse of Newton Township; paternal grandmother, Ethee Jarvis of West Virginia; the love of her life and companion, Charles "Chuck" Rogers of Southington, and his family, Walter and Cindy Hatfield, Andrew and Alex Hatfield and Taylor and Lindsey Rogers; several aunts and uncles, Eddy and Patty Howard, Ron and Judy Byers, Eugene and Diane Greathouse, Warren and Beth Schwab, Keith and Rose Ferry, Vicky Greathouse of Annamoriah, WV and Damon Jarvis; several cousins with whom she was extremely close; two dear friends, Vicky Kuntz and Jodi Click; as well as a host of friends who loved and adored her.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Joel Jarvis, and by an uncle, Joel "Nick" Jarvis.
Funeral services will be officiated by Lindsy's uncle the Rev. Eddy Howard at 1 p.m. Monday at First Assembly of God Church, 2640 Parkman Road N.W., Warren 44485. Family and friends may visit from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will be held in the Crown Hill Burial Park.
