Wanda Richards, Genie Bailey, and I were sitting at the dining room table looking out toward Chloe and suddenly I saw what I thought was black dogs. Wanda said, "Oh Janet those aren't dogs that's bear!" A mother and two cubs following her. She came off the hill from Walnut across Rt. 16 into my yard and on through Walker Creek up the hill and was spotted by someone over on Little White Oak. It is the first time I have ever seen bear at this place. They looked healthy and I love it when the animals are healthy.

Buddy Watkins and I drove to Gassaway to pick up his medication at CVS. I've never seen so many squirrels dead on the highway. Also Buddy and Glen Siers helped me out by finishing a walkway to the shop. They did a wonderful job and it looks great for the state board. I so appreciate the help. Good neighbors here in this country.

Heather, Ben and the girls spent last weekend here, we hadn't seen each other for quite a while. The babies are fun and happy little fellers. Heather is studying nursing at home and has to complete 16 hours by January to be able to attend classes. I know she'll make it.

Speaking of wildlife, Heather and the girls were in a small field just across Grassy Creek from their house, their two dogs were with them and rousted out a doe that just jumped all over them. That didn't last too long, Heather saw her little fawn. That deer meant business and naturally Heather was already headed back to the house with the kids.

Blaine King and I attended his son Kenny's wedding to his long time friend Mary Joe in Fairmont on July 17. It was a nice occasion. They had the ceremony on a boat on the Monongahela River. Mary Joe was fashionably late by an hour. Kenny was patiently waiting. She was lovely and at the reception they both looked so happy. On our drive back Blaine stopped at Exxon in Big Otter at 10:30 p.m and we broke down. Buddy and Doy Hannah rescued us. Blaine is still busy taking care of the horses, cats, and chickens over at the Chenoweth place on Nicut. He's been feeling a little on the poor side this past week but is feeling better now.

Now I have only one ground hog and two squirrels. Don't know what happened to my rooster, couldn't find him on the road here. Sorry he is gone.

Jessie Hickman came over for a perm and we had a nice visit. I like her, she reads Birds and Bloom while under the dryer. Also she is going on a cruise to the Bahamas with three of her daughters in January as a present for her 80th birthday. I know they will have a good time in the warm climate there.

Everyone have a wonderful week!
