Minnie Hamilton Health System is taking a pro-active approach to protect patients, staff and visitors during this time of increased influenza-like illnesses.
This strain of influenza has undergone several different changes in the past twelve months.
Minnie Hamilton has been working on a plan to be prepared for a potential influenza pandemic since 2004.
The plan continues to change as the flu strain and CDC guidelines evolve.
Following recommendations of the CDC, Minnie Hamilton has established an influenza treatment area within the hospital. Should this area be needed, patients will be directed to enter from the "Emergency" entrance located off the back hospital parking lot.

Minnie Hamilton encourages anyone with flu like symptoms to seek medical attention. Flu like symptoms include: temperature of 100.4o, sore throat; body aches; vomiting; diarrhea; difficulty in breathing; cough; congestion and fatigue.
If you get sick with flu-like symptoms this flu season, you should stay home and avoid contact with other people except to get medical care.
