The Calhoun Commission will be reviewing budget control reports at a meeting set for Monday at 1 p.m., considering shortfalls that are likely to happen during the next several months.
Calhoun has next to the smallest county budget in West Virginia, above Wirt, and commissioners have expressed concern about how the current recession will likely caused funding to fall short.
The commission will hear a report from Danielle Stevens regarding the dissolution of an un-audited account maintained by the county's fire departments, known as the tower fund.
The commission will be setting time frames for audits that are being required by the State of West Virginia, related to Calhoun groups, agencies, fire departments and others who receive taxpayer money through the commission.
A number of items related to grants and grant opportunities will be discussed.
- Pamela King is on the agenda with a complaint about the handling of an estate.
- Lori Fleagle: proclamation against domestic violence.
- Karen Parsons: resolution for Census Day, April 1, 2010
- Loren Howley: present book to county, resolution on mountaintop removal.
- Fiduciary request: Wilt estate.
- Committee reports.
