BURNSVILLE LAKE GETS $2 MILLION IMPROVEMENT - Sutton Lake Gets $1.3 Mil Stimulus Funding

(10/14/2009)
Two recreational areas widely used by regional residents will be making improvements.

Burnsville Lake has received a share of federal stimulus money and has begun work on $1,971,000 improvements at the facility.

Most of the money will be used in upgrading the popular Bulltown and Riffle Run Campgrounds. Electrical and sewer installation and upgrades are currently underway at over 250 of the facilities' camp sites.

Water and sewer access will be added to camp sites on C,D,E, and F loops at Bulltown. In addition many of the locations will see improved electrical service as the capacity will be increased from 30 to 50 amp hookups.

Sutton Lake has received $1.3 million.

Most of the campsites will get a face-lift as timbers will be added to define driveways and new gravel will provide a cleaner "living area."

In addition, eight of the projects playgrounds, which are now approaching 30 years old, will be replaced.

There will be new activity panels, climbing walls, music stations, slides and swings.
