Glenville, WV - The second show of the fall semester in the Glenville State College Fine Arts Building Gallery is now on display. 'Seeing in Silver' by Braxton County resident Steve Balcourt opened October 5th. This show is a collection of photography that takes ordinary items and displays them honestly capturing that moment without using any enhancements.

"Steve Balcourt is an amazing photographer, and we are lucky to have him in the GSC gallery. He takes photos of everyday objects and makes you want to look at them for hours," said GSC Assistant Professor of Art Liza Brenner.

The show will run from through December 4th from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The gallery is also open one hour before all GSC Fine Arts events. An opening reception will be held for the show in the GSC Fine Arts Building Gallery on October 13th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. before the GSC 2009 Music Fest. Music Fest is a concert showcasing all of the GSC music ensembles.

Costs for the 2009 Music Fest are as follows: $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for public school students and GSC faculty and staff, and free to all GSC students. All proceeds of the evening benefit the Bertha Olsen Scholarship Fund. This scholarship fund was established in 1980 in honor of Bertha E. Olsen Professor Emeritus, who was a music teacher for 42 years at GSC. This scholarship goes to a well-deserving GSC music major.
