| Russell D. Metz, 55 of Lawrenceville, Illinois, formerly of Calhoun County, WV, passed away Friday, October 2, 2009 at Lawrence Community Health Center, Bridgeport, Illinois.
He was born in Barberton, Ohio December 2, 1953, a son of the late Clyde and Virginia Metz. He was an oil field driller and loved bluegrass music.
Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Rita Metz; and 4 sons, Randy (Rhonda) Metz of Coolville OH, Russ (Angela) Metz of St. Francisville IL, Jeff Metz and C.R. (Brittney) Metz all of Lawrenceville IL; 1 daughter, Missy (Terry) of West Liberty IL; 1 brother, Eugene Metz of Thornton, WV; 2 sisters, Barb Hicks and Carolyn Metz both of Spencer WV; 13 grandchildren, Whitney, Darrell, Natasha, Christopher, Timothy, Matthew, Jeffrey, Dalton, Jacob, Molly, Mason, Aaron and Emily; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 1 brother Richard and 1 sister Connie.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 7 at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Rev. Carl Marks will officiate. Interment will be in the Metz Cemetery at Sand Ridge.
Friends may call at the the funeral home one hour prior to the services.
