The board entered into executive session to discuss the matter after which they voted unanimously for expulsion.
Superintendent Roger Propst recommended the male student be classified a dangerous student, and that he be expelled from Calhoun County Schools for a period of one year.
"Accordingly, the student will not be provided alternative education opportunities until another hearing is conducted within three months to reassess his status as a dangerous student and whether or not alternative education opportunities shall be provided," according to board minutes.
