Welcome to Beason.
I'm sorry to say this article will not be as entertaining as usual. I am suffering from a bad cold as well as internet withdrawal. I can survive the cold, but internet withdrawal? That's what makes a person feel near death.
I must comment on last week's article. Apparently, there was some confusion about the Beauty Mafia. No one at the salon is leaving. Although I may be banned after all this mess. I was referring to someone outside the salon. However, the individual still shall remain nameless. If you have any further questions, please refer them to me. The stylists are too busy to deal with questions about something I had written. My apologies go out to the stylists for any stress this may have caused them.
Unfortunately, I must get on Kathy's Soapbox this week. I am deeply bothered that there was a bomb threat called in to one of our bigger cities. I can't imagine someone being so shallow to do something such as that. I think this world already has more than enough 9/11 memories burned in their brain to have to endure another tragedy to bring them all back to life again.
My other peeve of the week is about something I heard on the radio. Apparently, it had been suggested that prisoners doing community service should wear shirts stating the crime they had committed. That idea was voted down because some felt it was unfair and would cause unjust humiliation. OK, let's talk about unfair. Is it fair that innocent lives are taken everyday due to some stupid drunk driver? Is it fair that someone gets their home or business robbed that they've worked for all their lives? What about those that are victims of cruel hands? In my book, (and you know I have my own library), if a person does the crime they need to endure a little humiliation. The prisoners need to be falling to their knees thanking God I am not deciding their fate.
The boys are doing well in school as far as I know. At least, I've not had any office visits yet. But, it has been said that boys are better in school than they are for their moms. I stand behind this theory 100%.
We got to attend the Ritchie-Calhoun game after all. I thought both teams did well and hats off to each. I was, however, not pleased with the explicit drawing on my car after the game. I probably could've handled it better if my boys hadn't been with me. I thought it was a lame thing to do. I try very hard to bring my boys up right without them being exposed to trash like that. So, congratulations, it definitely got my attention and it definitely jerked my chain. So, if you feel the need to do this again, please seek some counseling and get a life while you're at it.
It had been brought to my attention that someone mistook another individual for me. Apparently, this person was doing a little misbehaving at the Country Roads Festival. While I fully admit to any of my questionable behavior in the past, I can assure you I was not the one raising the ruckus at the C.R.F. This little rumor that got started caught me off guard. I really didn't think I was gossip-worthy. But, I guess no one is safe. Ha.Ha.
I want to thank everyone again at work (both places) for putting up with me and for all your patience. It is definitely true that you find out who your real friends are. So, I believe "Find Out Who Your Friends Are" by Tracy Lawrence is in order this week.
Peace.
