It is an amazing collection put together over several years, many of the photos found on the Herald's Photo of the Day.
A record of family members and the life and times of Calhoun County life, carved from the dense wilderness these past 200 years.
Some of the earliest photos dates to post Civil War days.
Norma Knotts Shaffer has dutifully collected, scanned and captioned the photos, part of which is readily available to Herald readers by a click.
Shaffer has focused on pre-1950 photos, while editor Bob Weaver has focused on post-1950 photos.
The photos will be preserved in the state archives.
If you have old photos of family members, events, landscapes, etc. - Shaffer would like to include them.
Identification of picture content, individuals, location and estimated year of photo is important.
