Dallas A. Carpenter, 78, of Grantsville went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, September 8th, 2009 at St. Joseph's Hospital after a short illness.
He was born April 9, 1930, son of the late Austin and Mae Davis Carpenter.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Wanda Lee Sears Carpenter. Also surviving are two brothers and their wives, Donald (Jean) Carpenter of Spencer, WV and Danny (Connie) Carpenter of Sutton, WV, as well as a niece Sherry Heldman and nephews Tim, Tommy and Jeff Carpenter, and loving sister-in-law, Wilma Gene Kerby also of Grantsville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Joyce Ann Carpenter and a nephew, Terry Carpenter.
He was retired from Consolidated Gas after 33 years of service. A member of the Brooksville Baptist Church, in Big Bend, he was a faithful trustee for many years and a member of the Builders for Christ.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, September 12 at Brooksville Baptist Church, Big Bend with Pastor C.W. McDonald officiating. Interment will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
Friends may call at Stump Funeral Home Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The family will also receive friends Saturday at the church one hour prior to the services.
A luncheon will be provided by Dallas and Wanda's church family following the services for family and friends.
