The Calhoun County Library is seeking to place an excess levy on the May
14 primary ballot. The issue will be considered Tuesday evening at a special
meeting of the Calhoun Commission at 5 p.m.
The library, which struggles to keep "bare bone" funding, ran the levy at the
last election. It was defeated by about one-half of one-percent. It was so
close a recount was called, but the vote change was negligible.
It is expected to be a small operational levy, which will have minimal impact
on property owners.
