Welcome to Beason. Please stop by and enjoy the sunrises and the early morning fog settling in the valleys. Let me set the record straight on this. Over the summer, I am not awake to appreciate these things. But since school has started, I've been trying to find something positive about being awake at 6:30 a.m. I will warn you I am still crabby at that time of the morning.

How about these temperatures? I am sooo not feelin' it. I've been trying to walk after I put the kids on the bus but the temperature has put my exercise on hold until the sun comes out. Everybody knows I am a total pansy when it comes to cold weather. You would think coming from Massachusetts I could deal with it.

I want to say thank you to the Main Street Beauty Mafia for throwing me an awesome birthday party. It made the afternoon a little more interesting and entertaining especially with the visit from the Captain. It is unfortunate that the M.S.B.M recently lost a friend to the lure of money and status.

That "Friend" needs to remember that once the money is gone, the status often goes with it. Whereas, friendship lasts a lifetime. But, we wish him well just the same with hopes that he finds whatever it is he is looking for. Have you read all the Twilight books? I just finished the third in the series. I haven't really figured out why everyone seems to be obsessed with it. I guess I don't because it's not my type of reading material. Give me Steinbeck any day. Of course, a good issue of Cosmopolitan is right up there on my list.

Good luck to the Ritchie Rebels and the Calhoun Red Devils on this week's face-off. I find it difficult to choose a side, so, I will not be attending the game. Not to mention I have to work. The dreaded four letter word. But, the car payments don't just disappear so I guess it's best if I go to work. I am going to try and make someone's game on the 11th. At least I won't have to pick a side.

I am planning to take the boys to Rhynersville (I don't think that is spelled correctly) to the big flea market. They have everything from goats to cookie jars. I really enjoy going because often I find things for sale that I had as a child. So-called "collector's items" that the sellers swear will make me a million someday. I never buy the stuff, but, often think of pleasant memories that went with them. We went with Aunt Betty one year and she made it an unforgettable trip.

She was a collector of cookie jars and I can recall her looking at a cookie jar that was from the 70's. Remember the weird green dinnerware with mushrooms on it? Anyway, the price was $5.00. She gave it her all to try and talk the seller down a few dollars. But, he wouldn't budge. So, we ended up moving on as she was grumbling that she wasn't going to pay that much for a cookie jar. Anyway, Aunt Betty has since passed, but, I always think of her and that cookie jar whenever we go. I loved Aunt Betty to pieces. I'm not sure what it was about her. Perhaps it was all the goofy email "forwards" or just because she never made me feel unloved or that I didn't belong. It was a true blessing that she was in my life, even if it was for a short time.

Halloween is right around the corner. Unfortunately, I have not decided what I will be this year for the annual Halloween party. I think it will be tough to beat last year's costume, but, I am willing to try.

My music choice of the week is "Best Days of Your Life" by Kellie Pickler.

Have a wonderful week.
