Robert "Bob" Nutter, 87 - Coolville, Ohio

Robert George "Bob" Nutter, 87, of Coolville, Ohio, passed away Monday, August 24, 2009, at St. Joseph's Hospital with his family by his side.

He was born January 1, 1922, in Calhoun County, West Virginia, son of the late George Stewart and Ruth Francis Boice Nutter. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in Pearl Harbor and a retired Laborer for Union Local 1085. He loved to fish and work in his garden.

He is survived by five daughters, Donna Jean Godfrey, Sherlin and Delbert Smith, Sheila and Dennis Sams, Patty Haning and Dan Rowan and Maxine Headley; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Jim Husk; many nieces and nephews; and a special companion, his dog Duke.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Nutter; two sisters, Maxine Husk and Florence Sheets; a brother, Clay Nutter; and two sisters-in-law, Leona Nutter and Louella Nutter.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 27 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, with Missy Dailey officiating. Burial will be in the Stewart Cemetery, Hockingport, Ohio. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
