| Elma M. Whipkey Wright, 90, of Parkersburg went home to be with her Lord Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, at the Ohio Valley Health Care.
She was born in Nobe, W.Va., a daughter of the late Abe and Daisy Church Whipkey. She was a dedicated homemaker, wife and mother. She was a member of Landmark Baptist Church in Parkersburg.
Elma is survived by two sons, Walter B. Wright Jr. (Alegra) of Vienna and Robert K. Wright (Diane) of Parkersburg; one daughter, D. Charlene Rowley of Parkersburg; one sister, Thelma Lowe of Monongalia, Pa.; one grandson, Brian Rowley (Tracie) of Fresno, Calif.; three granddaughters, Nevella Grimm (Jeff) of Vienna, Susan Dinnin (Jamie) of Parkersburg and Christine Pittaway (Ted) of Parkersburg; three great-grandsons; and four great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Walter B. Wright Sr.; her brothers, George and Leon Whipkey; and two sisters, Mary Whipkey and Agnes Susie Smith.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg, with Pastor Michael Lamb officiating. Burial will follow in the Nobe Cemetery, Grantsville, W.Va.
