Nelma G. Stump, 73 of Orma, WV died Sunday, February 3, 2002, at Roane General
Hospital.
She was born June 2, 1928, the daughter of the late Cecil R. and Nell Arnold Jarvis. She was a
member and former superintendent of the Minnora Prudence Chapel Church.
She retired from Kellwood Company in 1990. She was instrumental in establishing the clothing
mission at Orma and had been active in volunteer work in the community.
She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Vance Stump; a daughter, and son-in-law, Patti
and Ed Hicks of Chloe, WV, a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Jean Stump of Chloe; two
brothers, Bernard Jarvis of Chloe and Donald Jarvis of Phoenix, Arizona; seven sisters, Betty
Smith and Jean Holmes, both of Mesa, Arizona, Hope Schoolcraft of Orma, Helen Burns of
Elizabeth, WV, Alice Conley of Lynco, Donnie King of Ripley, and Connie Rucker of Diamond;
four grandchildren, Wendy Manns, Chuck Hicks, Shelley Goad, and Julie Vineyard and eleven
great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Butch McKinley and two sisters, Bernice Cornn and
Kathryn Jarvis.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, WV.
Reverend Timothy Hickman will officiate. Interment will be in the Minnora Cemetery at Minnora.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday.
