| Robert Lee Woods, age 71 of Gallipolis, Ohio, formerly of Arnoldsburg, and Rock Castle, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord Sunday evening July 12, 2009 at his residence.
Born November 2, 1937 in Ripley, WV, he was the son of the late Oliver Hackney and the late Ora Hazel Rhodes Sparks.
Robert retired from the Carpenters Union Local #650. He also enjoyed talking on the CB radio where his handle was 'carpenter'.
He is survived by, his wife Lois Mallett Woods whom he married on August 15, 1959 in Dunbar, WV; 4 children, Jane (Gene) Ellis of Ocala, Fl, Brenda (Mitch) Morgan of Arnoldsburg, WV, Wayne (Cheri) Woods of Pomeroy, Ohio, and Paula (Jerry) Miller of Pt. Pleasant, WV; 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; 5 brothers and sisters, Elizabeth Smith of Silverton, WV, James (Evelyn) Woods of Nanty-Glo, PA, Perry (Sharon) Barnett of Gay, WV, Roy (Geraldine) Barnett of Temple, GA, and Bonnie Snyder of North Platte, NE.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, July 16 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home 810 2nd. Ave. Gallipolis, OH, with Pastor John O'Brien officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
