The Calhoun County school board will swear-in newly appointed board member Larry Harris this Monday. Harris is a retired teacher.
Harris (left) is replacing Mike Wilson, who had to resign from the board because of a move from the district.
Three board members voted to approve Harris, with President Cynthia Dale abstaining
The board is looking at hiring a replacement for Bryan Sterns, who has resigned from Arnoldsburg Elementary as principal to become the director of Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center.
An agenda item calls for an increase of supplemental pay from $15 to $16.50 an hour and discuss scheduling for the next school year.
The board is looking at an agreement with Roane County for a shared Child Nutrition position and will be hiring an Executive Secretary .
The board will also be looking at drug testing policies for students and policies related to student driving.
Several personnel issues are on the agenda.
