"The old piece-meal console has been retired," according to 911
Director, Barry Pitts.
Miller Communications installed a new system last night at the 911
center at Mount
Zion. "It will improve communications to our emergency services," he
said. The
central dispatch voice was clearer and sharper during initial
tests.
A new Instant Recall Recorder was installed above the radio console.
The device will
allow for immediate replays of callers who give directions and further
checks are
needed.
911 Director Barry Pitts (L) and Dispatcher Burl Postalwait (R)
inspect new equipment.
Instant Recall Recorder is above console.
Postalwait does a quick-study on new broadcast console.
