Don O. McNutt, 54, of Gandeeville, West Virginia, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009, in the Camden Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg, after a short illness.
He was born Wednesday, July 7, 1954, at Zanesville, Ohio, a son of Don R. and Patty L. Ashcraft McNutt of Blue Rock, Ohio.
Don was the owner of the Single-Arm Farm, Gandeeville. He was a member of the Roane County Farm Bureau, the Burley Tobacco Council and the Board of Directors of the Southern States Co-Operative. He was a graduate of Cal State University, Fresno, with a B.S. in Agricultural Business. Also, he was an Army veteran of the Viet Nam War, a Disabled American Veteran and a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Ripley.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Patricia McNutt of Gandeeville; children, Deana Miller of Spencer, Patrick McNutt of Lexington, Kentucky and Kellen McNutt of Morgantown; two granddaughters, Alaina and Brooke Miller; 3 brothers, Reed McNutt of Tryon, North Carolina, Patrick McNutt of Watertown, New York and Michael McNutt of New Concord, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by 1 sister, Jane Koehler.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, June 27 at 2:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Charles Hicks officiating. Burial, with military graveside rites, will be in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer.
Friends may call Friday, June 26 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
