A shooting has occurred inside Martinsburg City Hospital's emergency department tonight at about 8:30.
It has caused the hospital to go temporarily into lock down, according to hospital spokeswoman Theresa McCabe.
Martinsburg City Police and the State Police are at the scene.
McCabe said the hospital is accepting patients again, although the emergency department has been described as "an active crime scene."
It is the second shooting in a West Virginia hospital within the week.
Last week a 53-year-old Elkview woman entered an intensive care unit at CAMC Memorial Hospital and shot her estranged husband to death.
