West Virginia now has four cases of confirmed swine flu according to the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta.
Cabell, Wood, Raleigh and Monongalia counties each have a case that has been certified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Some of the cases are out-of-state transient.
There are more probable cases that have been tested positive on a state level and are awaiting confirmation from the CDC.
Sherif Ibrahim, MPH Regional Epidemiologist for the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department, says there is a new probable case in Wood County,
a 13-year-old child who attends Edison School. The child is being treated at home.
Dr. Ibrahim says this brings the total number of cases of H1N1 influenza (Swine Flue) in Wood County to 3 cases, one confirmed and 2 probable cases. |
