SPENCER AUTO DEALER LOSES GM AND CHRYSLER FRANCHISES

It's a double whammy for Spencer Auto Group.

The Spencer dealership has learned they will be losing their General Motors Franchise, after already being cut by Chrysler last week.

Spencer Auto Group would no longer be selling any of the brands on their building, Chrysler brands like Jeep and Dodge and GM brands like Chevrolet, Buick and Pontiac.

"I'm mad. I'm angry. It shouldn't be that they are allowed to come in and take your franchise from you," said owner Pete Lopez.

The restructuring plans for the two struggling US automakers have cost him both franchises.

Lopez bought the Spencer dealership two years ago, and says he's invested $1 million in the business. He won't get any money back from the manufacturers.

"They are thieves in the night. The same people that were trying to jam cars down your throats last month won't take your calls this month," Lopez said.

Lopez plans an appeal to keep his GM franchise, and says he will keep the business open.

"If we have to, we will be the largest used car dealer in six counties," he concluded.
