Glenville State College
Ten students from Calhoun County were awarded their degrees during the 135th Glenville State College Commencement ceremony Saturday, May 9, 2009.
Thirty-three students from Gilmer County and nine students from Braxton County received degrees.
The Glenville State College Class of 2009 includes two hundred and sixteen graduates who completed requirements for an Associate or Bachelor Degree in a variety of academic areas including business, teacher education, and natural resource management. These students represent twenty-four West Virginia Counties, eight other states (California, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia), and two other countries (Canada and Japan).
"I am certain that the members of the GSC Class of 2009 will find themselves well-prepared for the next stage of their lives. They are entering prestigious graduate schools from New Mexico to Maryland and family businesses and leading corporations across West Virginia. I am also certain that in the years ahead, they will come to name Glenville State as the college that made the difference in their professional and personal choices," said Glenville State College President Dr. Peter Barr.
CALHOUN COUNTY GRADUATES
Rebecca Renee Williams of Grantsville received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education with a specialization in Early Education (PreK-K) and Elementary Education. Tyson Lee Price of Grantsville earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education with a specialization in Elementary Education and Multi-Categorical Special Education. Jason Duane Poling of Grantsville graduated Cum Laude (3.50-3.69 GPA) with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. Jessica LeAnn Chapman of Arnoldsburg received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Behavioral Science with a concentration in Psychology/Sociology.
Cameron Myles Nicholas of Grantsville earned an Associate Degree in Land Surveying Technology. Natalie Jane White of Millstone received A Bachelor of Arts in Education with a specialization in Mathematics (5-Adult). Matthew Jacob Walker of Grantsville was awarded a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education with a specialization in Physical Education (PreK-Adult). Jacob Daniel McCumbers of Grantsville received a Regents Bachelor of Arts Degree. Charles Caffery Forsyth of Chloe earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History. Eli Thomas Walker of Munday graduated Summa Cum Laude (3.85-4.00 GPA) with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology.

Carrie Michelle Stewart of Exchange received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management. Nathan Eugene Harris of Gassaway earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Natural Resource Management. Brett Kenneth Gump of Gassaway was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Kylie N. Lancaster of Frametown received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Natural Resource Management. Justine E. Nottingham of Frametown earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Natural Resource Management.
Crystal Maria Spar graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Behavioral Science with a concentration in Psychology/Sociology. Michele Lea Norman of Sutton graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. Michael Lee Ware of Sutton was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Computer and Information Systems. Dustin Andrew Crutchfield of Burnsville graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing.
