Pearl Beatrice Hart Gerwig, 81, of Grantsville, Calhoun County, West Virginia, went to heaven to be with the Lord on Monday, May 11, 2009.
She was the daughter of the late William and Mae Frame Hart.
Grantsville residents will long remember her dedication to the town and community, often helping keep the streets clean and the trash removed.
She and her husband were owners of Western Auto of Grantsville. She was also a member of The First Baptist Church of Grantsville.
Surviving are her husband of 63 years Phillip Gerwig, and three children, Patricia Sue Gerwig Rosner of Germantown Maryland, Thomas Richard (wife Jamie) Gerwig of Grantsville, and Janey Ellen Gerwig Hudkins (husband Roger) of Mineral Wells WV; her sister Pauline Wilson of Cowen WV; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters, Floda White, Leo Fowler, Vernie Stewart, Nellie Hamric Davis, Edna Meadows, Rosalie White; brothers, Glennard Hart, Hubert Hart, Darius Hart, Edward Hart, Charles Hart, and Herbert Hart.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 15th at Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville. Burial will be in the Hart Cemetery at Clem, Braxton County, WV.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville.
