The old Walton High School, most recently an assisted-living facility called the Walton Inn, was sold on the auction block today.
Built in 1942, it was a school for 50 years.
It was sold for $125,000 to Walton resident Danny Starcher, who said he did not want it torn down.
When the building was the Walton Inn, the owner spent $180,000 for an elevator.
A second parcel, the former football field, was sold to Reedy resident Kathelyn Fields for $80,000.
She wants to use it for a horse stable.
