WOOD FEST PARADE AT 11 - Mud Bog Action, Johnny Staats, Dangerfield, Fireworks And Much More

Johnny Staats, Calhoun's very own UPS driver and Mandolin Virtuoso will play prime-time tonight on Grantsville's Main Street Stage, sponsored by Houchin Construction and Drilco Oil and Gas.

Last years hit "Mayberry Memories" will return with Scott Epperson and Bruce Neuman as "Barnie Fife and Gomer Pyle" brought to you by Minnie Hamilton Health System.

The 47th annual Calhoun Wood Festival Grand Parade will
feature parade marshals Harold "Kitty" and Jeane Wilson.

The parade will be held begin at 11 a.m.

Another crowd favorite is the Calhoun Wood Festival Points Series Mud Bog held Saturday at Calhoun Industrial Park beginning at 1 p.m.

Registration starts at 9 a.m. See professional mud drivers along with pro and amateur mud racers.

The host will be Calhoun favorite Toby Wagoner. The Mud Bog is sponsored by Calhoun Realty, Heiney and Son, Furr's Auto Sales and Calhoun Auto Care.

Tickets will be available at the gate. This year's race will feature 9 classes: Open Class-Speed Pit; Pro Class-Speed Pit; Modified-Speed Pit; Outlaw-18" Pit; Super Street-18" Pit; Hot Street-18" Pit; Street-18" Pit; Outlaw Deep Pit-38" and Under; Outlaw Deep Pit-38" and Over.

Last years feature bands are returning this year to the Wood Festival.

Dangerfield returns to Saturday night's lineup at 9 p.m. Roger and Dave Bush, Harry Beall, Rick Poling and Lyle Kerby make up the band and are brought to you by Traders Guide.

"A new feature to the Calhoun Wood Festival is Civil War re-en actors camping at the mouth of Phillips Run Creek at Wayne Underwood Field, brought to you by the 19th Virginia Regiment, Company A, aka Moccasin Rangers Civil War reenactment group.

Camel Rides and a Children's Petting Zoo will also be at Underwood Field.

There will be a Flea Market on Saturday at the Old Calhoun High School parking lot.

A colorful fireworks display will conclude this year's
