Harry Simmons of Sand Ridge and his dog Jake participated in a Dog Walk For A Cure sponsored by Relay for Life of Harrison County on Saturday.
The event was held at Veteran's Park on the grounds of the VA Medical Center in Clarksburg. Harry sees his primary physician and Oncologist at the VA Medical Center.
About 20 dogs participated in the walk. The money raised went to help fund research to find a cure for cancer in dogs and cats.
Harry is a 2-1/2 year cancer survivor. He was diagnosed with
Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in December of 2005.
Harry lost one of his other dogs, Sadie a Golden Retriever-Collie Mix, in June of 2008 from complications of kidney cancer.
