Ruth Elaine Weaver, 71, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away April 20, 2009 at Bayside Hospital.
A native of Walton, Roane County, West Virginia, she graduated from Walton High School in 1957 and married Donald Weaver, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary May 17, 2007.
She served as Assistant Librarian at the Calhoun County Library during the 1960's, and as president of the Bayside Hospital Auxiliary during the 1970's. She was a member of the Haygood United Methodist Church, Chesapeake Beach Garden Club, and was employed for several years as an assistant to Ophthalmologists in Virginia Beach.
She is survived by her husband, Donald F. Weaver; a daughter, Jennifer Weaver Nocito and husband James of Bonita Springs, Florida; three grandchildren, Jessica Leigh Taylor, Travis Weaver Taylor, and James C. Nocito, II; a great grandson, Riley M. Breton; and a sister, Theresa Cunningham.
A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, April 23 at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Bayside Chapel with Rev. Chuck Shumate and Rev. Mary Dadisman officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
