Tim Moore's State Farm Insurance is sponsoring the first race of the Calhoun Cup - the Flower Power Run, which will be held Saturday at the Calhoun County Park.
Brian Taylor (men's running), Melinda Fitzwater (women's running), Mark Rooper (men's walking) and Marty Owings (women's walking) are the defending champions.
The rest of the 2009 Calhoun Cup schedule includes:
- June 6, Wood Festival Run at Grantsville.
- June 20 Appalachian Classic at Calhoun County Park.
- August 15 Hotter Than Heck Run at Calhoun County Park.
- November 7 Not Yet Done Run at Calhoun County Park.
All Races are 5K (3.2 miles) and all races have men's a women's divisions in running and walking. All divisions are divided further by age although the Calhoun Cup itself is held regardless of age and is divided by men's and women's walking and running only.
Entry fee for the State Farm Insurance-Flower Power Run is $15.
