WOMAN TAKES ROBBER'S GUN - Two women fought a video poker parlor robber in Beckley last week, taking away the suspect's gun, according to Raleigh County sheriff's deputies.
The suspect â also armed with a knife â fled the scene.
The Sheriff's department said a male suspect armed with a handgun and wearing a red and white bandanna on his face entered Alice's.
The man demanded money, and he was given an undisclosed amount of cash.
BAD SITUATION DEFUSED - A potential deadly incident in Fayette County ended peacefully yesterday.
A man and his son were involved in a domestic dispute. Before deputies arrived the son barricaded himself in an adjacent residence where he fired several shots, threatened to kill himself or be a "suicide by cop" victim, according to the Fayette County sheriff.
Police arrived around 10 p.m. and the man gave himself up at 2:30 a.m.Thursday morning.
The man fired 15 shots from a 9mm semi-automatic pistol.
The man is currently hospitalized with charges pending.
GUN FIRED IN BURGLARY ATTEMPT - Two Parkersburg men are being held on bond after an attempted burglary led to a gun being fired.
Shawn Linko and Joey Fields were attempting to rob an apartment.
A neighbor saw the incident and confronted Fields. That's when Fields pulled out a handgun and shot at him. The neighbor was not injured.
Linko and Fields fled on foot.
Fields broke into another residence before being caught by police. Linko was also arrested.
Fields is charged with wanton endangerment, night time burglary, attempted burglary, and violation of protection order. He remains behind bars in lieu of an $18,500 bond.
Linko is charged with attempted burglary and destruction of property. He remains behind bars in lieu of a $7,000 bond.
BRADLEY HOTEL ROBBED -
Raleigh County sheriff's deputies are looking for two men who robbed a Bradley hotel at gunpoint.
They say two men wearing ski masks entered the Bradley Days Inn brandishing handguns and demanding money from a clerk.
The suspects fled on foot.
