Thanks Tom and Gene Hickman for mowing the yard for the first time. It was getting plush. The garden is plowed but not disc yet. The Forsythia bushes and Hyacinths are blooming, the willow trees and lilacs are getting their leaves. The house painting is coming right along in between the rain and cold weather. My friend Joe is doing a great job. What a difference paint makes. Spring is a beautiful thing.

This months full Pink Moon heralds the appearance of the grass pink, or wild ground phlox - one of the first spring flowers. It is also known as the Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon, and the Fish Moon.

The Old Farmer's Almanac says to plant above ground crops April, 3, 29, 30. Below ground crops 10, 11, 20, 21. Set chicken eggs 8, 9, 16, 17, 18.

Blaine King visited with his son Kenny and family in the Fairmont area for four days. They had a good time and Blaine says they went everywhere.

Buddy Watkins is doing well and painting his back porch and getting a roof put on it. He took Aunt Ree to Arnoldsburg for a hair appointment.

Ben and Heather had a party at their house. Ben turned 30 on the 3rd. Friends were there. Lots of good food and a fire. Everyone had a nice time even though is was a little rainy and cold.

Hummingbirds have been sited in WV. I'm going to put my feeders out soon.

My rooster is beautiful but I haven't seen to his hen and hope she shows up with little ones running around.
