Audena Eugenia Newhart, 97 of Williamstown, West Virginia, passed away at 11:40 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2009,at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
She was born August 20, 1911, in Calhoun County, W.Va., to John and Ruby Fox Morgan. She had taught at a one room school, Crummies Creek in Calhoun County. She rode her horse Satan and boarded with a family named Dillon that is related to Sue Anne Dillon Steele. She was later employed by American Viscose. Audena was a member of Williamstown Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed painting, reading and the out-of-doors.
Audena was married 57 years to Charles Richard "Dick" Newhart, who preceded her in death on October 19, 1991.
She is survived by her son Allen R. Newhart of Williamstown: two grandsons, Dr. Richard C. Newhart of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Jeremy Todd Newhart of Williamstown; grandchildren, Tyler, Trenton, Andrew and Hannah Marie Newhart; and her sister Joy Christine Morgan Stevens of Grantsville, W.Va.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and nine brothers and sisters; Imogene Campbell, Arthur Morgan, Bob Morgan, Owen Morgan, Quinton Morgan, Dolly Morgan, Lenora Davis, Pauline Morgan and Betty Morgan.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 25, 2009 at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home in Marietta. Burial was followed in Riverview Cemetery in Williamstown, W.Va.
