Durward K. "Butch" Knopp, 68, of Sandyville, West Virginia, died March 22, 2009, in the St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington.
He was born January 2, 1941, in Bay City, MI, a son of the late Durward Kent and Elizabeth Ellen Harpold Knopp.
Butch was the owner and operator of Knopp's Power Equipment, Spencer, for many years. He attended the Shatto Tabernacle, Ripley.
Survivors include his wife, Joy Marie Knopp, of Sandyville; sons, Kenneth Lee Knopp Rhodes of Leon, WV and Jerry Kent Knopp of Newton, NC; stepson, Gordon Rhodes of Statts Mills, WV; daughters, Kendal Stearns of Reedy,WV and Tammy Longfellow of Newton, NC; brother, Howard Knopp of Leon; sister, Connie Starcher of Spencer, WV; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 25 at 1:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Daniel R. "Danny" Whited officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, at Gay, WV.
