| Sylvia Hicks Risbin, 90, of Akron, Ohio, passed away February 27, 2009 at Akron City Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born March 12, 1918 on Little White Oak at Chloe, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Clay and Rushia Jarvis Hicks.
Early in life, she attended the Little White Oak Methodist Church. She was a resident of Juno Beach, Florida for thirty years prior to moving to Akron.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Risbin; 5 sisters, Mary Sampson, Anna Harold, Minnie Boggs, Cora Fritz, and Dorma Jarvis; 4 brothers, Carl, Curt, Rector and Hallie Hicks.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 7 at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Rev. Roger McKee will officiate. Interment will be in the Hicks Cemetery on Little White Oak, Chloe.
Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to services Saturday. |
