Leander Newton "Pete" Husk, 68, of Mineral Wells, passed away March 2, 2009, at his residence.
He was born July 20, 1940, in Grantsville, W.Va., a son of the late Dewey Newton and Bessie Bower Husk. He had been employed by Wharton Body Shop, was a Protestant by faith, loved to play the guitar and harmonica and was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his loving companion, Shirley Marks; stepdaughter, Kathy Marie Sims; two brothers, Foster Husk of Grantsville and Charles E. Husk of Libertyville, Ill.; and three sisters, Gertrude Welsh and Sharon Titus, both of Jane Lew, W.Va., and Madeline Lamp of Weston, W.Va.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Denver, AB, Donzel and Roger Husk.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of services today at the funeral home.
