Dr. Therese Linnon, Pediatrician at Minnie Hamilton Health System's Glenville Office, was selected by the Center for Rural Health Development to receive the West Virginia Immunization Network's "Hot Shot" award for her work to improve immunization rates in West Virginia.

Dr. Linnon (pictured above) accepted her award at a banquet at the Embassy Suites in Charleston Wednesday, February 25.

Dr. Linnon was selected for her diligence in utilizing the online state immunization directory, WVSIIS, in the care of her patients. With the help of her staff, Whitney Hacker, LPN, and Donna Meadows, Patient Support Specialist, Dr. Linnon works daily to ensure that her patients are up-to-date on all recommended immunizations for their age groups.

During a visit, Dr. Linnon and her staff check WVSIIS to ensure that the patient's shot record is up-to-date, and if not, she discusses what immunizations are needed with the parent and gives the missing vaccinations during that visit to get the patient caught up. The patient's record is then updated on WVSIIS to ensure that anywhere that patient goes for medical care will have an accurate record of what shots the patient has already received by looking up the patient on WVSIIS.

Minnie Hamilton Health System would like to congratulate Dr. Linnon and her staff for being selected for this honor, and thank them for the hard work they do to better their patients' health.

Dr. Linnon is available for appointments Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Minnie Hamilton Health System's Glenville Office on Mineral Road. Appointments can be scheduled by calling the facility's main number 304-462-7322 and asking for the Pediatric clinic.
