| The Calhoun Commission has submitted a list of requests for special funding needs for county projects to Delegate David Walker.
Two funding needs at the head of the list, $20,000 for heart monitors/defibrillator's for Calhoun EMS ambulances, and $20,000 for development of camping sites at Calhoun County Park.
Other funding requests submitted to Delegate Walker:
County Library heating system/improvements $7,000
Skate Board Park Construction at Calhoun Park $5,000
Bleachers for Wayne Underwood Field $10,00
Grantsville, Arnoldsburg, Upper West Fork VFDs - $5,000 each
Following the dissolution of the Budget Digest, the grants essentially come from the governor's contingency fund.
Grants for fairs and festivals are made separately.
The amount of special grant funding through the county's House of Delegate member has dwindled from a high of about $200,000 annually to less than $75,000.
