GRANTSVILLE FIREMEN PLACE NEW RESCUE TRUCK IN SERVICE

(02/19/2009)

The Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department has placed this new and much-needed Rescue Truck in service, with the bed off the former unit being transferred onto a new chassis

Firemen obtained the new vehicle using grant money and local sources, including much help from local businesses, Butch Ford's Auto Body and Furr's Rt. 5 Auto Sales.

The unit has emergency lighting, rescue baskets, rescue tools, saws, chain saws and self-contained breathing apparatus.

The department has also received a grant to purchase a new Jaws of Life.

The truck carries a multitude of specialty equipment
for emergency-rescue situations, including this Air
Bag demonstrated by Matt Kirby that will lift 218 tons
