The Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department will be getting a much-needed replacement for its' Jaws of Life.
Rep. Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) announced that the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department has been awarded $45,410 by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
The funds will come from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program.
The GVFD will also be obtaining a thermal imaging device, which is essentially used for search and rescue, or can be used to detect people inside of buildings.
"I'm glad to see these dollars coming to support Calhoun County firefighters," said Capito.
"They do excellent work on behalf of all of us, and it's important that they have the tools to do their jobs safely and completely. This grant will help make that possible."
