| George L. Rutherford, 72, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away January 19, 2009 in Newton, North Carolina.
He was born February 2, 1936 at Mullins, WV, a son of the late Ralph and Mabel Claire Alderman Rutherford. He was a retired mechanical engineer for the O. Ames Company with 33 years service. After retirement he worked as a volunteer for the American Red Cross and for Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg.
Surviving are his loving wife Jearldine; daughters, Kelly Norman of Crestwood, KY and Tracy Bostic of Berkley Springs, WV; 4 grandchildren, Stacy Norman, Trent Norman, Emma Bostic, and Victoria Kate Bostic.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, January 24 at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, WV. Rev. Carl Marks will officiate. Interment will be in the Sand Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services.
