The old Minnora school property will be put out for bid, following action by the Calhoun Commission this week.
Ads will be appearing in regional newspapers.
The 3.27 acre site has two large buildings, a gymnasium and a school building, and is located along Rt. 16 at Minnora, about 8-miles from I-79.
It will have a minimum bid of $50,000.
The gym has 60-amp electric service.
The commission says the site and buildings is a rare opportunity for business use at an affordable price.
A 1.41 acre section of the original site has been leased to the Calhoun County Committee on Aging for 99-years. They have erected a new senior center on the site.
The property was deeded to the Calhoun Commission a number of years ago when the school was closed, after which the property was long-term leased to the Minnora Community Center.
When the center encountered problems, the organization turned the property back to the county.
