Mountain Fury has picked up quite a following in the state of West Virginia. They will be performing Saturday night at the Bear Fork Trading Post along US 33-119 between Glenville and Arnoldsburg. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Famous Little Roy Lewis from the Lewis Family Band, America's first family of bluegrass, will be appearing with the all-female group.
Mountain Fury is among the most popular bluegrass bands in the state.
Rachel Singleton, a Summersville West Virginia native, is a state mandolin champion, and a great singer.
Multi-talented musician Elizabeth Long, a Lincolnton, Georgia native, adds a little comedy along with her banjo, fiddle, autoharp, and guitar pickin'.
Hailing from Linn, West Virginia, Eileen Marsh adds guitar, some deep voiced vocals and often cracks some jokes, usually at Elizabeth's expense.
The group is rounded out by a new bass player, Rachel's little sister, Robin Singleton, who adds beautiful vocals that will send chills down your spine.
Mountain Fury loves what they do, making people smile with their music.
Little Roy Lewis
From a humble beginning in 1951, the Lewis Family has risen to prominence as an icon of bluegrass gospel music to untold thousands of fans throughout the United States and Canada and wherever else throughout the world the music is played.
The family had a love of music, and the children began to play instruments at a young age.
Little Roy began learning to play the banjo when he was only six. When Little Roy was eight years old, he won a local talent contest singing "Juicy Watermelon" and playing a Sears Silvertone 5-string banjo that belonged to his brother Esley.
Today Little Roy is recognized as one of the foremost five-string banjo pickers in the country. His favorite banjoists have always been Earl Scruggs and Don Reno.
