The Calhoun Commission meets Monday starting at 9 a.m. to approve a long-term lease on a section of the old Minnora school property to the Calhoun County Committee on Aging.
The commission will also discuss what action will be taken on the disposition of the remaining school property, deciding to place it back on the auction block.
The commission will elect a president for 2009 and set a number of meetings for a Board of Equalization and Review for February.
The commission officially meets about 15-20 times for special meetings annually, in addition to 12 regular meetings, with commissioners serving on numerous boards, many of which meet monthly.
They will process budget revisions and a $10,000 grant received by the County Clerk, hear committee reports, and process employment requests.
Calhoun sheriff Allen Parsons is advising the commission of the appointment of Carl Ballengee as Chief Deputy.
A request is being made by the Calhoun County Public Library for $6,500 to help replace a furnace.
The commission will review appointments and make changes to boards and authorities.
