MAN MURDERED IN WAYNE - An arrest has been made after a body was found in Wayne County Wednesday. Richard Shane Boyes died from a gunshot wound to the head.
Wayne County Sheriff's Detective Chip Maynard says Elmer Wesley Turner voluntarily came in and gave statements regarding the incident. The statements provided led to probable cause to charge him with murder.
CVS ROBBERY - Police have arrested a Mingo County man who is accused of attempting to rob a CVS Pharmacy Monday.
Police identified the man as Jordan Hanshaw of Mingo County who is charged with attempted robbery.
They said Hanshaw inferred that he had a weapon and demanded prescription medications.
WHEELING BUS DRIVER STABBED - An Ohio Valley Regional Transportation Authority bus driver was stabbed in the hip Monday afternoon at the Robert C. Byrd Intermodal Transportation Center in Wheeling.
Police arrested Charles Joseph Liner, 46, who was "living on the streets of Wheeling." He has been charged with malicious wounding and was being held in the Northern Regional Jail.
The injured bus driver was taken to Ohio Valley Medical Center for treatment.
Witnesses said they watched Liner - who was wearing an Army green jacket and blue jeans with a bandanna on his head - follow the bus driver into the Intermodal restroom, where the stabbing took place.
Wheeling police said the bus driver was expected to be OK.
Officers looked through some of Liner's luggage, which was sitting outside the Intermodal and found three pocket knives inside one duffel-type bag.
A tag attached to Liner's travel trunk, indicated he had arrived in Wheeling this past Saturday by bus from Lima, Ohio.
GRAFTON STABBING - Authorities say Jason Lee Cain, 21, and Shane Grow, 27, were arrested Monday on malicious wounding and conspiracy to commit malicious wounding charges.
The two entered the residence of George Jenkins in Grafton. Grow allegedly got into a fight with Jenkins when Cain pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the back.
Jenkins was sent to Grafton City Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.
HUNTINGTON MAN ARRESTED ON GUN CHARGES - A man from Huntington will spend five months in prison for illegally having guns on his property.
William Chester, 62, was not permitted to own guns after being convicted of misdemeanor domestic battery and domestic assault in Kanawha County in 2005. Deputies responded to a 911 call at his home in Institute and found the weapons in 2007.
After being released from prison, Chester faces five months of home confinement and three years supervised release.
