The Grantsville VFD responded to the deep well site off Road Run Road between White Pine
and Five Forks last night at 6:30 p.m. Neighbors reported a fire at the Cabot-Ike Morris deep
well, but the fire turned out to be a controlled burn. Flames were visible for several miles.
Firemen returned to the station, when the status was confirmed.
The community has experienced at least four other fires since the winter chill-down began.
The first was a cabin at the head of Klipstine, and the second on the day before Christmas, with
the Kevin Wease family losing their home and all its contents on Annamoriah Creek. There was
no insurance.
A mobile home on Wolf Run near Orma was destroyed Friday night, and a vacant house on
Main Street in Grantsville was destroyed early Saturday. SEE Hur Herald Stories. |
