She was born in Columbia, Kentucky., a daughter of the late Leslie P. and Laura Anne Rowe Coomer.

Mrs. Purvis was the mother of Lisa Purvis, a member of Calhoun County Emergency Services and a Calhoun County 911 Dispatcher.

Surviving are three daughters, Judy Purvis, Lisa Purvis and Wanda Duff; three brothers; eight sisters; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Alfred Purvis and one brother.

Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.
